RAGE is not an anti-gaming group, per se. We do not actively oppose existing Indian gaming facilities, unhappy as we may be with the impact of the existing Sycuan casino. Our primary thrust at this time is to oppose the expansion of Sycuan band gaming activities in our area, as delineated in the proposed amended Sycuan band compact with the state of California.
Although we may strongly disagree with the actions and pronouncements of the Sycuan band, we refrain from derogatory and unfair remarks about them. We base our arguments on known and/or ascertainable facts, and identify our opinions as such.
We believe strongly that it is our right as American citizens to enjoy the tranquility, beauty, and relative safety of our chosen neighborhoods without interference from third parties whose actions would substantially and negatively affect their character.
We welcome the economic success of the Indian peoples among us. We recognize that past actions by our federal government did them serious harm. However, we do not believe that helping them, by harming us, is an appropriate solution to their problems.
